And sometimes the week is made of awesome
Jul. 8th, 2008 08:20 amSo in the past week I have
1. Been able to take an evening on my three-day trek out to the Bay Area for work, and catch up with
merhawk. Though BF was out of town last-minute, it was still nice to be able to meet up and grab a leisurely dinner and chat for a few hours, even if I was overdressed for the area, apparently....
2. Been able to visit with
prince_corwin for another evening, along with
mcroft,
immlass, and a few others at the tail-end of their con.
3. Score a copy (finally!) of Neverness.
All in all, a quite good week.

Date: 2008-07-08 06:38 pm (UTC)Yeah, I know.
I was only out there for three days, and didn't know until about noon on Tuesday that I'd be free enough of work to actually meet up with anyone. Next trip (since that mess looks to require a lot of help, so I'm assuming we'll get tapped again at some point to go out there to fix Yet More Stuff).

Date: 2008-07-08 09:11 pm (UTC)(On the gripping hand, I've got the next three books (Nameless God, War in Heaven and The Wild) already, so this completes the set, and I can just plow through all four in sequence after I finish up the Black Company reread I've started on.

Date: 2008-07-08 09:51 pm (UTC)Also, I've discovered over the years that most if not all of those funky words are not invented, they're just very very obscure. (I haven't seen a plausible origin for "Slel," though.)
