Yesterday, I put on the suit I bought for [livejournal.com profile] geordieyankee's summer cotillion debutante ball star-filled gala he co-produced in college, which was too small in the waist by far the last time I tried to wear it (and ended up needing to buy a couple of new suits as a result). Now, not only does it fit, but it also is loose enough in the waist that I can pull the pants up or down without needing to mess with silly things like buttons or zippers.

Go me!

wow, that is quite impressive... what is your secret?

p.s. what exactly is a "summer cotillion debutante ball star-filled gala" and who were the stars?

we are so boring in England, we get the odd crap school/college disco held is a musty school hall filled with lads in tracksuits who refuse to dance and very overdressed female children who refuse not to dance... not good.

In no particular order:

1. Pay attention to portion sizes
2. Stop having pasta, pizza and other "goodies" as side dishes, and have more salads and veggies
3. Lots of fish
4. No desserts

Summer cotillions and debutante balls are big parties (usually associated with the South and the upper class), all fancy-like. I was referring to the end-of-the-year party that [livejournal.com profile] geordieyankee's college had, where they gave awards to all the student projects, similar to American award shows like the Emmys or the Oscars. The biggest star there that year was Frank Oz, the guy that did the voice of Yoda (from Star Wars), and a whole host of Muppets and Sesame Street characters.

But truly, I was the star. And I Executive Produced, with help from Chester. We had Frank Oz and Joely Fisher (an Emerson Alum) as our honored guests. I was SO close to getting Paul Newman to come that it still hurts to this day...But ah well.

star quality

Frank Oz is impressive enough, and i'm sure it is also one of Paul Newmans regrets, that still hurts him to this day. heh.

p.s. i'm sure you were the star, in a shiney, stands out a mile kinda way.
