So far this morning:

  • Tried to start car to drive to train station. Car refused to start.[0]

  • Realized that a kludgey hack I'd done to get GPGMail to work was causing the compiler to see multiple copies of things in different locations, and it was freaking out (and failing to build a component needed by ethereal). That was about two or three months of beating my head against that issue that was resolved in about 10 minutes.[1]

  • Got to the gym with enough time to work out before meeting with $student_developer, only to realize that I had two pairs of shorts, and no shirts. Dammit. I refuse to pay $15 or so at the campus store for a shirt to wear to the gym just because I screwed up on this.

  • Got to spend 10 minutes with my daughter this morning at 5:30, because she's apparently gotten a cold, and woke up unable to breathe well because of a stuffy nose.

*sigh*

Wotta sucky day, so far.

[0] Most likely because when I got home yesterday, it was right after my wife, daughter and mother-in-law did, and as a result M-I-L's car was in front of my garage bay. When I remembered that my car was still sitting outside (it's over 11 years old, so I don't like leaving it outside much any more), I had just climbed into bed for the night. Since the car ran for less than a minute, I'm guessing that it's (yet again) being cranky about running briefly, then getting turned off.
[1] Since now, GPGMail apparently lets you specify the path to the gpg binaries as a config option now, instead of being more or less hard-coded to look in /usr/local/bin for them. Re-download the bundle, wipe old install, reinstall. Feh.
