First, I'm a staff member here, not a student. Second, I'm not terribly happy that an e-mail address I have never used getting scraped off of our university website and used to spam me.
Please do not mail me again. Regardless of whether this is corporate policy or just one person doing this, either way I won't be using College Pro painters for any jobs I might ever have, and will mention this incident to anyone that I know of that might be considering using College Pro's services.

Date: 2006-02-03 07:53 pm (UTC)Second, I've also had two contractors basically do the same thing to try and recruit me, and I've had to deal with their "Oh, we just have no idea where or how we got this address. We have a variety of sources, maybe you used it somewhere and just forgot." level of disingenuity ("No, really, stop scraping our web site. This address is just forwarding to my department e-mail account. The only legitimate e-mail I get is from a couple of friends elsewhere in the university that mail me to see if I'm available for lunch, and nothing going out from it. Bitches.").
As I'm already somewhat irritated ("Dear NetApp: Your quota system looks quite suspiciously like it's either broken, or sucks beyond belief. Also, your CIFS process going nuts and needing to be terminated and the setup command rerun (while accepting the current configuration values, no less) to get it working again isn't doing much to endear you to me. Kisses, Prince Eric."), the chance to take a passing kick at an easy target was just too tempting.
Ignoring the recruiters, this is the first spam I've responded to in several years, actually....
