Hell week continues.
Spent all of this week in our new datacenter located downtown, working on cabling. Ran out of labels for the label maker, so as a result we've been forced to buy a package of 8 1/2 x 11 labels, and use Excel to create something we can print on the sheets and then cut with scissors. Monday night, worked late to finish up a server config cleanup. By Wednesday, start coming down with a nasty little head cold that's just enough to keep me from sleeping well, and has me feeling sapped and drained at times. Friday, show up at 8:30, finish up cabling work. Run back to main campus, show up in war room. At 5:15, start shutting things down. By 10 at night, my day was done and I headed home.
This morning, up at 6. When checking the Blackberry for e-mails, see that work went through 4 AM and that there would be one last shipment of gear to go down at 9 AM this morning (things were supposed to be done moving by midnight). Get to car dealership at 7:15 for routine service, and to wait to see if I would need to be at our main campus at 9 AM to help the movers get the last of the gear out, or if I was just going to the new data center to be there while we start bringing stuff up.
Ghod only knows what time I'm getting out of here tonight, and tomorrow the app managers will be testing their stuff out to make sure everything works OK. And this is weekend one of four.
The one slight !Peeve in all of this is that I at least don't have to work next weekend, as that's my weekend off.
(I'm ignoring some of the petty, inter-group squabbling as being a combination of past frustrations and stress on everyone's part, though that's also not helping any.)
